The game has online play, but is aimed more at parties of friends, as this is where the game really shines. Apparently features cross platform support for PC Android and iOS, though I have only tried the online PC version. Your crew of up to 10 is tasked with the job of performing various errands around the ship, in order to successfully win the game by completing a sufficient number of these objectives. However, one or more of these team members will be an 'Imposter'. The Imposter(s) must prevent the crew from completing these tasks and can do this with a combination of murdering your innocent, industrious crew-mates, and sabotaging the ship in various ways. The imposter is also able to use the many vents around the ship, in order to slither away from a crime scene, or to emerge at an opportune time. The non-imposter crew, are allowed to vote to expel a member of the ship during emegency meetings, which can be called by any member of your team to discuss the events. The trick comes not just in figuring out who IS the Imposter, but convincing your team that you are telling the truth. I have seen the witness of a bloody murder expelled into space, on the accusation of the Imposter, a good number of times. While it may not be great to be the first in the group to die, it is very entertaining watching the rest of the mystery play out among your team, as you will already know the killer, and see if they can figure it out, or if they will turn on each other and fall prey to the Imposter(s) one by one. The player base isn't the largest, however, as you only actually require up to 10 players, this shouldnt pose much of an issue, and i was able to find multiple games i could join. The game also seems to have a good number of Spanish speaking players, so is a great way to brush up on your Spanish language skills. I picked this up at 40% off over the xmas 2018 sale, but I could certainly recommend this at full price. It even has hats!. Sure 4 bucks isn't that much money but this game is overall worth about 2 , if you're planning on playing exclusively with friends it MAY be worth it but being a Crewmate still feels like you're an errand boy who can't really do anything significant , I have a few ideas but I don't have anything in mind that could make the role genuinely interesting to play long-term , it is especially a significant issue because that is the role that you'll be playing during the majority of your playtime , being the Impostor and doing your best to deceive and keep a low profile is actually fairly enjoyable , the biggest problem I can see is that if people travel in groups (which in defense of the game rarely happens) it can make the match unwinnable for a single ImpostorThere is a single map (I think , it feels the same every round) and 3-10 players , 1-3 of them being imposters which have to kill the rest of the players and additionally being able to sabotge equipment as a distraction and hide in vents. Murder mystery in space is a fun and interesting concept but the game simply is just not worth 4 bucks in it's current state , cosmetics are cool and all but what I would like to see is a new map (preferably a bigger one , although the current one is not small) and more complex and varying tasks that could perhaps grant more points , being a crewmate after a while is very stale because you essentially just run around doing very simple errands until you A.get stabbed .B find someone else that has been stabbed or wait for someone else to do so or C.start an emergency meeting or wait for someone else to do so either out of boredom or because somebody is apparently acting "suspicious".I really like Innersloth as a developer and I like the core idea of this game as well but until more non-cosmetic content is added I cannot recommend this , they seem to be actively pushing out mini-patches so I believe (and hope) that we'll see something bigger soon.To sum it up:Pros ;-The game definitely has a charm-Crossplatform.-An interesting take on the idea of murder mystery.Cons :-Lack of content.-No counterplay , just baseless and vague accusations.The game is very simple which is not always a bad thing but in this case it is rendering the game un-fun long term , atleast for me , as another review that I saw said there's no real counterplay , just baseless accusations . Although it may seem simple at first, this is a really fun game. It's extremely easy to get a grasp on the mechanics but there's plenty of room to discover new strategies and work out different plans that keep the game fresh. The game is also free on mobile, which allows it to be used as a demo of sorts if you're interested in playing the Steam version, especially since it allows crossplay with other platforms.It's not all great, though. This is a game that requires a LOT of people to play: 4 people just to start a game and ideally 6-7 if you don't want games to end instantly. The public community for this game also suffers from a lot of issues that other free multiplayer games do, which means you'd probably want to play with people you know to ensure that the game is fair and fun.Definitely shows a lot of potential!
